Rabbi Zechariah and Elyanna Rosenthal
Rabbi Zechariah is a software engineer at Google by day and a passionate Torah educator by… also day (and night). He studied at Yeshivat Har Etzion, earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Yeshiva University, and received semicha from RIETS. He loves bringing people together around good food, good questions, and meaningful conversations. Whether he’s whipping up a feast, sharing an unexpected Torah insight, or breaking down a complex idea with clarity, Zechariah is always thinking about how to connect people—with each other, with Torah, and with their own growth. He’s excited to help build a vibrant, thoughtful, and inclusive Orthodox community at NYU, where students feel at home asking questions, deepening relationships, and celebrating Jewish life.
Elyanna is passionate about building meaningful connections—whether through deep conversations about Jewish thought or over a fresh batch of babka. She recently completed the Tanach and Halacha fellowship at Tagel in Jerusalem and is finishing a Master’s in Israel Studies at Hebrew University. For the past two years, she’s taught Jewish Philosophy and Family Life at Chorev High School for Girls, where she created space for students to explore their ideas and questions in a thoughtful, relevant way. A proud alum of MMY and Touro College (B.A. in Marketing & Management), Elyanna also brings experience from the world of marketing and healthcare consulting. She’s especially drawn to Tanach, Jewish philosophy, and finding ways to make big ideas feel close to home. When she’s not chatting Torah or baking something delicious, you might find her painting, reading 20th-century British novels, or diving into an essay about reality TV. Elyanna can’t wait to help create a warm, welcoming, and intellectually vibrant Jewish community at NYU.
